{"id":573,"date":"2014-09-01T23:27:48","date_gmt":"2014-09-02T03:27:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jonesling.us\/blog\/?p=573"},"modified":"2014-09-01T23:27:48","modified_gmt":"2014-09-02T03:27:48","slug":"canobie-lake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.jonesling.us\/?p=573","title":{"rendered":"Canobie Lake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of Beta&#8217;s friends invited us to join her (and her parents Nick and Valerie) at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canobie.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Canobie Lake Park <\/a>over Labor Day weekend.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a bit like Six Flags or Walt Disney Land, but smaller. \u00a0(WDL<em> != <\/em>WDW).<\/p>\n<p>The rides are good, the lines were relatively short (not like the last time we went to WDW where the fast pass system was a <em>must<\/em>), and it&#8217;s only a 20 minutes away.\u00a0 What a deal.<\/p>\n<p>I got Alpha to ride with me on the &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.canobie.com\/thrillrides\/thrillrides.php\" target=\"_blank\">Corkscrew Coaster<\/a>&#8220;, which flips you upside-down; she got me to ride on &#8220;Wipe Out&#8221; which left me dizzy (it spins \u2014 fast).\u00a0 She rode it a couple of times by herself, too.<\/p>\n<p>Megh rode on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canobie.com\/waterrides\/waterrides.php\" target=\"_blank\">Boston Tea Party<\/a> a couple of times, once with each child, and was soaked.\u00a0 Making her do that was my revenge for making me sit in front of the log flume.\u00a0 The splash when the &#8220;boat&#8221; hits the water goes up and out probably fifty feet.<\/p>\n<p>There was a carousel ride, some kids-only rides, lunch, and water slides in there too.\u00a0 We did probably a third of the park by nightfall.\u00a0 We ended the day out with the ferris wheel and a sky ride, and left as the dark was falling with some rain to boot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of Beta&#8217;s friends invited us to join her (and her parents Nick and Valerie) at Canobie Lake Park over Labor Day weekend.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a bit like Six Flags or Walt Disney Land, but smaller. \u00a0(WDL != WDW).
