{"id":2130,"date":"2018-11-13T22:29:28","date_gmt":"2018-11-14T03:29:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.jonesling.us\/?p=2130"},"modified":"2018-11-13T22:29:39","modified_gmt":"2018-11-14T03:29:39","slug":"bmg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.jonesling.us\/?p=2130","title":{"rendered":"BMG"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"389\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.jonesling.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/20181111-BMG-Meghan.png\" alt=\"meghan @ blue man group\" class=\"wp-image-2132\"\/><figcaption>The ushers passed out strips of paper as we entered, suggesting we &#8220;turn it headbands or scarfs, or whatever you like.&#8221;  Meghan liked a hair bow.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I got a text from my sister-in-law on a Thursday: would you like a pair of tickets to see Blue Man Group this Sunday?\u00a0 Something came up and we can&#8217;t use them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Always quick on my feet, I got back to her over an hour later, asking her where (even though there&#8217;s only one place in the area).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both girls declined repeated offers to go with me.\u00a0 Apparently I smell bad or something, but opportunity only knocks once.\u00a0 At least Meghan was willing to go, but only after I promised to keep to the speed limit this time.*<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.jonesling.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/20181111-BMG-audience.png\" alt=\"audience\" class=\"wp-image-2131\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The show was hilarious and high-energy.\u00a0 It does appear to evolve over time, as it&#8217;s not the same show that we saw last time &#8211; except for the general tenor it was basically a new show to me.\u00a0 If you too haven&#8217;t seen it in twenty years, go again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">*this is a short story: before Meghan and I were married we went to see Blue Man Group with Kennon and Katie.\u00a0 While cruising down the Massachusetts Turnpike I was pulled over for &#8220;speeding and weaving.&#8221;\u00a0 I disputed the ticket because I honestly don&#8217;t think I was speeding when the cop saw me (I now freely admit to having been speeding earlier) and the weaving charge was just plain stupid.\u00a0 I was half successful.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I got a text from my sister-in-law on a Thursday: would you like a pair of tickets to see Blue Man Group this Sunday?\u00a0 Something came up and we can&#8217;t use them.
